What is Sandbox Trading?

Sandbox trading (also called paper trading) lets you practice making trading decisions using virtual funds against real market prices — without using any real money. Crypora strongly recommends all new users start in sandbox mode.

What sandbox trading is

In Crypora's sandbox environment, you start with a virtual balance. When you open or close a simulated position in sandbox, the system calculates the result using real-time market prices — but no actual money changes hands. You can see how your decisions would have played out, learn from mistakes, and build pattern recognition, all without financial risk.

Why we recommend starting in sandbox

New users who jump directly into live trading without understanding how signals work, how to read risk tiers, and how to apply stop-losses are at significant risk of large losses. Sandbox trading builds the foundational skills needed to use any trading tool responsibly.

  • Learn to read signal reports without pressure
  • Practice stop-loss discipline before real consequences
  • Understand how often setups succeed or fail in different conditions
  • Build confidence in your decision-making process

How Crypora sandbox works

When a signal is in an educational state (blockers present), Crypora shows a "Practice in Sandbox" CTA rather than a live execution button. This is deliberate — the system prevents you from being pushed toward live action when conditions are not clean. You can always choose to sandbox any signal regardless of its execution status.

What sandbox cannot teach you

Sandbox is valuable but has limitations:

  • It does not replicate the emotional experience of watching real money fluctuate
  • It does not account for exchange fees, slippage, or order book depth
  • Strong sandbox performance does not guarantee equivalent live performance

Use sandbox to understand mechanics and patterns — but approach live trading with proper risk management regardless of your sandbox results.

Beginner guide: your first sandbox trade

  1. Open the Signals section and find a signal with a "Practice in Sandbox" or "Trade Ready" status.
  2. Read the full signal report: confidence score, risk tier, entry zone, stop-loss, and target.
  3. Open the sandbox and set a practice position using the signal's entry zone.
  4. Set a mental note of your stop-loss level — practice respecting it as if it were real.
  5. Review the outcome later and note: did you follow the plan? What would have happened?
Disclaimer: Sandbox trading results are simulated and do not represent real trading performance. Crypora does not provide financial advice. Trading cryptocurrency with real money involves significant risk of capital loss.

Frequently asked questions

Does sandbox trading use real money?

No. Sandbox (paper trading) uses virtual funds. No real money is deposited, moved, or at risk in sandbox mode. Results are simulated.

Do sandbox results predict real trading performance?

No. Sandbox results do not account for real market factors like slippage, exchange fees, liquidity constraints, or the psychological pressure of real money. They are useful for learning signal mechanics but should not be used to predict live trading performance.

How long should I practice in sandbox before going live?

There is no fixed rule. We recommend practising at least 30–50 trades in sandbox and reviewing your patterns before considering any live trading. The goal is to understand the signal system and your own decision-making process, not to hit a number.

Can I lose money in sandbox?

Only virtual money. Your virtual balance can go down in sandbox — which is the educational point. You learn how losses happen without financial consequences.
